Question

Hello, I am trying to find out who my great great grandfather Foster Phillip Lancaster born around July 1870 or 1869 in New York, USA.  I found where he was adopted, and in 1880 he was living with Josiah and Deborah Bishop as an adopted son when he was 11 working on their farm.  I cannot find any information of his birth until 1880 and then again from 1880 until 1892.  Any information that you can give would be greatly appreciated.  Sincerely, Tracy

The 1880 census does not list him as adopted??

One explanation of him being adopted,could be he is the son of

Deborah Bishop,and she was married before and had Foster.I had a similar

case just like this,You may check if Deborah was earlier married to a

Lancaster.
