Wampfler or Wampler?

+6 votes

MatchBot proposed a merge of orphaned profiles that have different spellings for the last name. They are duplicates, and I think Wampfler is the right one, but I'm not sure. Neither profile has a manager or any helpful info, although the trees for both show Switzerland for most of their ancestors (and Wampfler mostly too, which is why I protected Wampfler-14).

1683 seems a bit too early for dropping the "f", but I've not worked with Swiss names before.

Anyone interested in adopting these guys?

Thanks! Liz ~ MatchBot MP (MatchBot Monitors Project)

Isn't Waeffler and Waffler also connected to them some how? I have all four last names in my family tree all from Switzerland.
