Mary Polly Gooldy is a daughter of Frederick and Bridget Gooldy, and they are my 4x gr-grandparents. Mary Polly married George Mayhew and one of their children's name is Francis but could not be the Francis named in this chancery case. Alfred Gooldy, mentioned in the case is my 3rd gr-grandfather and is Mary Polly's younger brother. At the time of this case he would have been 18. There is mention of a mulatto slave named Dick who is being used as collateral for a loan and then being shielded from a creditor or something. I cant understand the old-style of writing to see if this is a correct understanding of the case written. All of this is taking place in Bedford County, Virginia in 1828.
