Looking for father of Robert Holt born about 1786 in North Carolina.

Question

Robert arrived in Illinois probably about 1818, appeared on 1820 Gallitan County, census.  Last census record was 1850 in Jefferson County, Illinois.  Served in war of 1812.  I believe he was the father of Jefferson Harrison Holt.  I do not find any link for him with the common Holt lines.

This may be a relative of mine. My brother, Alan Holt of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma has a pretty good family tree going on this site and may have useful information.

Our family came from the Alsace Loraine region of Europe and we have relatives who settled in North Carolina and Tennessee(Lincoln Co.).  The name was apparently Hold before leaving Europe.

I believe this is a record for 1789 for Robert Holt.The record is confusing.
