Recycling WikiTreeIDs

I read a few times about recycling IDs.

I  would like to know why? I couldn't find the answer to that and when I create a new profile, I really can't also search for recyclable profile. From computer point of view, there is no need for such action. You can only get strange history of the profile.

Actually, from a computer point of view, it would be better to not use Surnames in the Wikitree IDs used in the links.  We would not have to agonize over spelling so much.  And having the lowest number could and should then be irrelevant too.

interesting. I wouldn't have expected it was a problem to reuse an unmanaged anonymous profile. i am guilty of this.  To answer your question, when I come across one, I search of any history of the profile. If nothing is available I simply create a real person that is not already part of  wikitree to replace it. I will stop and leave the administration of such corrections to someone who wants to handle them.
