Has anyone noticed Find A Grave has different URLs for the same memorials?

On one URL such as this one http://findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Bowen&GSiman=1&GScid=267641&GRid=6562764& you get defiled by advertising.

On this one for the same memorial through Family Search, no advertising and you get a full-screen image of the same memorial. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=6562764

Yes ... what I do, after finding someone, is to click on a relative's link and then, on the new page, click on the person I was searching for and, voila, it's the shorter version that I copy into the 'Sources' of the Wikitree profile.
Good solution!

Yes,  if you do a search for a  profile it gives you a different IP for a "Clean" link & does not actually make a link. Also the same if you are signed in. In other words you must search the profile out... when found you need the # Memorial number & do a fresh search to get it to work for others. :0

I just searched my mother :) = http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Edmonston&GSfn=Donna&GSiman=1&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSst=46&GScnty=2611&GScntry=4&GSob=n&GRid=154276879&df=all&

But if you click "Begin A New Search" & enter her ID # you get = http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=154276879 . I have cleaned up some of these in others profiles. I use findagrave.com all day & night many times in 24 hrs. :)

I generally get to the one I want, go to the pictures (using the tab), then click back to the memorial (using the tab) and it shortens the link.

Good solution!

I do this exact same thing to get the shortest possible URL for a single memorial page.

If you look at the URL itself, note that "GRid" means "Grave ID", followed by the number of the "memorial". So "GRid=154276879" in the URL denotes the memorial number, or page number, of that grave.

What is somewhat trickier is to get a similar short URL for a particular cemetery page.
You don't even have to click the images - just click the "memorial" tab directly and you should get the short URL!

It may vary by browser, though. I use Firefox.
