How do I add a GEDCOM to the one already in Wikitree?

I am not clear on how to add an additional gedcom to my existing one on Wikitree.

Just upload and match or later connect...... 

But as said before lesson learned is that manual added profiles are better sourced WikiTree prefer quality over quantity

If you have a big family tree we strongly encourage you to import just a piece at a time. See splitting a GEDCOM.

 

Hi, Magnus.  One issue I had with the approach of creating partial GEDCOMs from Ancestry is that, when I deleted portions of my tree to prepare a partial tree for export, the GEDCOM that Ancestry produced from that partial tree still included all of the deleted portions.  So I could not make a partial GEDCOM from Ancestry.  Note, I did not download any programs to create GEDCOMS, but just did it from the Ancestry website.

Whenever you donate a gedcom or manually enter data into WkiTree, it is a gift to the whole WikiTree Community.  Thank you for your contributions.

You can't add to an already uploaded gedcom.  Neither can you update a gedcom with a new gedcom.  The only way for anyone to edit a profile that has already been created is by manually editing.

If you want to import a new gedcom to create new profiles, you would do it as a new gedcom.  You would need to check each match and skip any profiles that already exist.  Once a gedcom is imported, you need to manually connect and skipped, pre-existing profiles.
