Just upload and match or later connect......

But as said before lesson learned is that manual added profiles are better sourced WikiTree prefer quality over quantity

If you have a big family tree we strongly encourage you to import just a piece at a time. See splitting a GEDCOM.

Hi, Magnus.  One issue I had with the approach of creating partial GEDCOMs from Ancestry is that, when I deleted portions of my tree to prepare a partial tree for export, the GEDCOM that Ancestry produced from that partial tree still included all of the deleted portions.  So I could not make a partial GEDCOM from Ancestry.  Note, I did not download any programs to create GEDCOMS, but just did it from the Ancestry website.

hi Bill!  Thank you for joining WikiTree!

Whenever you donate a gedcom or manually enter data into WkiTree, it is a gift to the whole WikiTree Community.  Thank you for your contributions.

You can't add to an already uploaded gedcom.  Neither can you update a gedcom with a new gedcom.  The only way for anyone to edit a profile that has already been created is by manually editing.

If you want to import a new gedcom to create new profiles, you would do it as a new gedcom.  You would need to check each match and skip any profiles that already exist.  Once a gedcom is imported, you need to manually connect and skipped, pre-existing profiles.
