What to do with an unknown father

Question

Als de vader onbekend is, en het kind dus de familienaam van de moeder kreeg, maak ik dan toch een profiel aan voor de UNKNOWN vader?
Want ik denk dat WikiTree anders om gegevens voor de vader blijft vragen.
En wat moet er dan, wel of niet, in dat profiel dan ingevuld worden?
En wat gebruik ik dan voor de LNAB, Unknown, of Onbekend? En moet dat dan in hoofdletters, zoals ik al ben tegengekomen?

 

When the father is unknown and the child gets the surname of the mother, should there then be a profile for the unknown father? And what should and should not be in this profile?

I would create an "Unknown Unknown" profile only if I have some information about the father.

If the only thing I know is that the baby must have had a father, I would not bother with a profile for that unknown father.

i agree I usually do not put a father at all until i've discovered his name and details this way it avoids any merging issues and other people know that the father is an unknown variable. It very well may be the father did not claim the child such as my family where the mother was not married but had children to some one unidentified. We just left the father blank and notated the child that the father was not known and never claimed.

I would consider creating a profile without knowing a name if I had some other details of the man's life.
