Finding family in Londonderry

Hello!

I'm researching the family history of my friend, but have come to a bit of a roadblock. Mary Susan Hughes, problem profile in question, was born around 1791 in Londonderry, Northern Ireland (according to death records). I cannot find, however, the specific parish that she was from, nor the year that she and her husband emigrated from Ireland to Canada. If anyone could offer any suggestions as to where to start, or has any information on either the Hughes or Orr families in Northern Ireland (especially around Lough Neagh), it would be very much appreciated! If you have any questions regarding information, just let me know.

Thank you!

There is a family tree on Ancestry where MSH's husband Robert Orr is noted as Presbyterian.

Searching for the daughter Matilda (assuming she is born in Londonderry in 1826) throws up a lot of hits, most of which are presumably false if she has moved to Canada.

One tactic I have used is to trace back these 'false positives' in the hope that one or more may lead back to a common starting point - i.e. you do not find the person you want but you may find a cousin or sibling.

The death record for MSH does not give her middle name, so I assume you have that from another source - that would make quite a difference to your chances of finding them if that were accurate or not.

Good luck

Jason
Thank you!
