How do you add a photo to a G2G post?

Question

I've seen photos in G2G posts, whether its about someone's family history or a gardening project. How is this done?

When you have the answer/comment box open, in the toolbar (bottom line, 2nd section), there is an icon that looks like mountains and the moon (hovering over it says image). Clicking on the icon, presents a pop-up window. Insert the URL of the picture in the appropriate space. Adjust the size. The following in 200 wide. There are other formatting things that can be done also. Then click OK

this is not really the best answer, but will probably work in most cases by typical users.

you can't simply copy/paste a local image from your own device, for example. it would first need to be uploaded somewhere and then made publicly accessible.

but you probably can copy/paste an image from another website -- well, you're not actually copying the image -- you're actually copying the browser code used to display the image. you don't see the code, because the browser hides all that magic from you in the process.

I do it all the time form my local device .

I had to briefly change my browser security setting and then was able to get the photo to paste into the G2G post.

Try creating a free space page, upload the image there, then copy/paste to G2G

Thanks Doug. I did use a photo from a free space and it only worked after changing the browser security setting in MS Edge. Then it would paste into the G2G post. So it did work and I'll just have to do that each time.
