Thank you for the answer. I have seen both of those listed in Scotlands People and am no further along in discovery of John Sutherland's ancestry. So I should have included that I was aware of both Donald Sutherland and Robert Sutherland as possibilities. There is no confirmation of either and that is why I am stuck.
