I don't trust this tree - George (1505-1541)is born in Malmesbury England and his father is in Buckland, England . Per family research -done in 1909 there was a George, Thomas and Ann Hanks that moved from Malmsbury to Stow-on-the-wold in England about 1550. These 3 are siblings. The Thomas had a son - Thomas Jr and Thomas Jr had Thomas III who was soldier tinder for Oliver Cromwell - he had 4 sons, Thomas 4th-John, Joseph and William. Joseph had Benjamin Hanks who came to America Oct, 17, 1699, settles in Pembroke Plymouth County MA - this Benjamin eventually owned the whole island named Saguish -lying in Plymouth harbor and Fort Standish was later built there. They are known for making the first Bells in America as well as the First Silk Mill and translating Hebrew to English for church books.
