How to handle errors/problems with entries made by others?

I don't even know the proper category for this question.  I'm attempting to connect my line (Bauman-4596) to an existing line (Baumann-4), which was created in 2010 by Nancy Strange.  She has posted the line which was developed by another researcher (KCT), who is NOT on WT.  KCT and I have been communicating for more than ten years about our shared ancestors.  KCT developed for her own use a practice of putting the mother's maiden name in parentheses.  When Nancy Strange found KCT's data which she loaded into WT, those mother's maiden names are now in the WT records as 'other names'.This conflicts with WT policy, and is misleading to other researchers.  Unfortunately there are hundreds of them I fear.  In Sep. 2015 I posted a note to Nancy Strange on Baumann-15, and didn't hear from her.  I'm not sure how to proceed, but would like to see this corrected.  Help!

Martha, That is a real problem.  Considering that Nancy has not been on WikiTree since 2013 and that her Watchlist has over 8000 people, there are a lot of erroneous entries.  I fixed a few, but it will take an army.

I suggest messaging Nancy again and also asking to be on the Trusted List for a profile.  When she doesn't answer, ask for her profile (non-private) to be Opened and orphaned.
Vic,  I did send a request to be on the Trusted list, and put a reminder on my calendar for next week to contact WT to request as you suggested.  How would I go about doing that?
Martha, On the profile, click on the dropdown at top right with the profile number. 2/3 of the way down click on Open Profile Request.  Fill out the form and submit it.  About 10 days later, either the person will decide to be active (not likely) or that profile (and perhaps others) will be orphaned.  You will get an email if that happens.

I don't believe this was done deliberately here, but rather merely a result of a gedcom import. Leaving now the tedious task of gedcom cleanup.

Since these are open profiles, anyone can make the changes. But I'm afraid there will be no quick or automated way to do it.
