8,771,891!!!???

Question

OK, this is a fairly lighthearted post and I know it's probably just a glitch in the system but are 8,771,891 people really related to Anne Frank, Queen Elizabeth II, Uncle Tom Cobleigh and all? When I discovered that I was connected to all these people, I really felt important but since it has dawned on me that another 8,771,890 other people are too, cucumber sandwiches on the lawn at Buckingham Palace have become a distant dream. Please put me out of my misery.

I am pretty sure about one of my lines to her. Count me in for the dinner tea and crumpets and watercress/cucumber sandwiches !

When I see some lines to famous ones that are questionable, I try to find more sources. Sort of challenging but fun.

There will be even more...eventually ;) As for the sandwiches on the lawn, even though I live quite close I will pass. The English weather would most likely rain on the parade anyway :)

I can't tell you for sure about the overall situation.  What I can tell you is that many of the "connections" that have shown up for me are based on one, very dodgy and improbable, link.  So I take them all with a grain of salt.  Or two grains, or three . . .

I agree with Nan on this one. my link is thru an ancestor for whom I have no actual proof of his parents, just very strong circumstantial evidence. That means if I am right then the connection is valid, but I have been wrong before.

Well, one thing to keep in mind is that connections go through marriages as well as ancestors or even descendents.  But the connection you're shown is just the most direct one and not likely the only one.  I know I have several lines which connect to the main tree, so while it might be the case that a particular newly connected profile like that for Anne Frank might be tenuously connected, most people are securely and many times connected.

I think the point I was trying to make as much as anything is that on the election finder they were all 8,771,891 but I notice that they have now changed to 8,778,577 except Anne Frank. She's 8,778,483.

Sorry I meant 'connection', I was actually talking to somebody on the phone at the time about an 'election'. Age you know...
