John-Baptiste was a French Canadian, probably from Quebec. He had a wife whose name is unclear because of smudging on written records, but looks like Clotilde Brisson. His son was Oliver Fountain(e) (sometimes there is an ending "e," sometimes not) Oliver was born in 1829 in Quebec and died in 1904 in North Adams, MA. Oliver had a son named Gideon (also spelled Gedion), b. 1864, in Black Brook, Clinton, NY, USA. Gideon is the father of my grandfather, Wilfred Fountain.
