Sue Scarcella and I are interested in documenting Indonesian notable families and have begun putting some profiles up. Raden Danowwiekromo, for instance, is an ancestor of former President Sukarno. As we do this we've come up with several questions that we'd love feedback on!
1. We see our profiles needing to be bilingual including (a) the person's own language and (b) the global international language, English. Are there recommendations on the best way to present material in two languages?
2. Most of the profiles we create will be persons of sufficient stature to be Notable. Is there special advice or recommendations that the Notables Project would have for us?
3. We will want to properly categorize our profiles. Because modern times have made everything different, most of these leaders led entities which no longer exist. We are picturing a category trail that goes Category--> Regions-->Asia--> Indonesia --> Historic Entities, Indonesia --> (Specific Historic Entity -- Sultanate, Principality, Empire, etc) --> Individual Profile. Does that work? Is there a better term than "Historic Entities" since there are so many different types of political entities including a colonial trading station or two?
4. We would love to collaborate with others on Indonesian profiles. Is there an interest in an Indonesia Project at some level that could contribute to this work?
