How do I get Volunteer Badge?

I've already registered, uploaded a GEDCOM file and been working on profiles, merges and even adopted a couple of orphan profiles that belong in my tree.

All the instructions about the volunteer badge talk about registering, which I have already done.  I have signed the Honor Code as well.  So how can I get to Volunteering?

Its my understanding that you should have received your Volunteer Badge after your membership was confirmed. Perhaps you were overlooked.

Just so people who are interested know what happened...

A profile was created for Alison by one of our team members (but it could have been any member, it's not just a sysop privilege.)  The team member added Alison's email address which makes the profile go "live" and the profile gets the Family Member pending badge.

The person the profile was created for then gets an email that invites them to join WikiTree. If they accept, they can set up a password and then their account is active and they'll have the Family Member active badge.  Once they sign the Honor Code, they'll get the Wiki Genealogist badge.

This is usually done by people who are inviting family members to join.

It bypasses the standard sign-up/greeter process.

That explains a lot... thank you.

It also helps explain why my sister has one, even though I invited her -- she signed up separately and we had to merge her two profiles together after she got the standard welcome/greeting.

I have a Volunteer Badge and I don't recall signing up for anything specific. I assumed it was given once membership was confirmed.

You should have had the option to add tags and volunteer after you confirmed your email address. Then a greeter would have confirmed your membership. Signing the honor code would have come after that. The volunteer badge would have shown once you had entered tag(s) and Descriptions and clicked the green button. I see you have tags entered so presume you  must have gone through this process?

Welcome to WikiTree Alison - Your Genealogist Badge is likely an alternate to the Volunteer Badge. Someone may have confirmed your membership before you volunteered - either route you are a full contributing member and have signed the Honor Code - Thank You.

I don't believe this is correct, but I don't have an official answer. I have both a Genealogist and a Volunteer Badge.
