A good and easy access source with most census originals imaged online is

https://familysearch.org/

You can also type in the year and census type on google search and find a variety of online sources including familysearch ..

the government source is

You can register for a free account with Family Search at https://familysearch.org/ and start your own family tree on the site.  Once you enter ancestors' names, you'll be able to bring up census records where available.  Please note that sometimes surnames (and even first names) have been misspelled by census takers, and they may have lied about birth dates to either get into the military or to avoid military service.

The FamilySearch Family Tree is the same as WikiTree in that there is only 1 profile per person. You need to frequently check for duplicate profiles on FamilySearch and merge those you find.
And for women to pretend to be younger than they are. (not that the census takers cared, but if they pretended to be younger to attract a mate, they wouldn't necessarily have wanted to fess up just for a census.
Absolutely right!  Women were just as likely to lie about their ages as men, but for their own reasons.  Care must be taken with all sources, including death certificates, as the informant didn't/doesn't always have the correct information to give.

As it happens, FindMyPast, which is mostly a pay site, recently made all their US Census records free for all:
