MacKenzie line with Dupuytren's disease

It affects the two fingers on the hand and is known to be hereditary mostly through the Scottish lines.  My cousin was just diagnosed with it and the first thing they asked him was who had the line in their history? Hits mostly men after 50 years of age.

I have Dupuytren's Contracture and it comes from my mother's side.  I have it on both hands and started with pinky and I have it on right index as well.  I have had surgery as well as an injection.  I highly recommend the injection over surgery.  I have Hughes, Brady, Clark, O'Hare from Scotland and Ireland.

First heard of this inherited condition when my mother was diagnosed with dupuytren' s contracture.  The doctor simply told her "You must have ancestors from the Orkney Islands."  She had surgery but it did not go well and her hand was worse afterward. We think the gene may have come down through the Woodall family.
