I'm talking about Thomas Betts of Guildford and Norwalk, 1615-1688. In the db he is the son of John Betts (Betts-117) 1597-1638 of Claydon, Oxfordshire, England. Thomas Betts is from Bearsted and/or West Peckham which is not near Claydon. The listed siblings are correct for the parents, but I think Thomas does not belong. He is firstly born about 6 years before the marriage and any other children. His grandfather is listed as John Betts 1576-1620 (Betts-116). I think this is his father. The other children are born in 1603, 1605, 1610, 1613. This is also what all my sources say. The sources are on Thomas' profile.
Both profiles are project protected for PGM. I am one of the profile managers of Thomas Betts (Betts-119)
John Betts (Betts-117) seems to represent the John Betts who emigrated to New England in 1638 with his wife Goody Betts and 5 children. He either died enroute or shortly after arrival. She was named Mary and was one of the few female proprietors and started a school. I would like to flesh out her life. It is thought that John (Betts-117) was either the son of John (Betts-116) or his nephew.
