Trying very hard to get the citations correct but keep getting "Cite error 2".  What am I doing wrong?  Open to constructive criticism and recommendations.  Brain fried . . . going to bed . . . looking forward to hearing from some kind soul.  :)

Can't see the page in Edit mode, it's Green privacy.

But writing <ref/> will cause Cite error 2.

Well done, L!

Now you just need to remove the unsourced template from Edward's profile.

In case you don't know how, just click the Edit tab, scroll down to the bio/sources section (Edit Text), delete the word Unsourced and the surrounding double brackets, and click the SAVE CHANGES button!

Like I said, NEW-BIE!  Thanks Lindy!

Check the syntax of your <ref name=xxx> statement. or <ref name="xxx">

It should be <ref name=xxx>source citation</ref> Then subsequent uses should be <ref name=xxx />  If  you've used the quotes in the first example continue to use the quotes. Also if you've copy/pasted from a "Word document" those quotes don't work.

Thank you Anne!

It was the cutting/pasting of quotation marks that got me. Relieved it was that simple.
Thanks Ann, your answer also helped me. :)
