Unfortunately, this isn't the right Anthony. I was having technical difficulties and was unable to provide more information.  However, I can do so now: Anthony Maxwell was born around 1718 and his wife was born around 1722. We belove Anthony was the first Maxwell of our branch in America, but do not know for sure. They lived in the New York City area, and their children were baptized at the Dutch Reform Church in Smithfield, PA. We just don't know  much about them, like which of their children is our direct ancestor. Some information on this Line can be found by Google searching "William T.Maxeell 1884-1950. It should be the first result to show up.

Thank you! I am looking for information on this branch, as it is uncertain as to which of the sons is our direct ancestor. One of them had a son named Joseph around the start of the revolution. Also, we don't know anything about who Anthony Maxwell's parents are. As far as we know, he is the founder of our AmericN line.
You may want to check at  familysearch.org/wiki/en/Bucks_County,_Pennsylvania_Genealogy

I have been able to find information on my ancestors on another Dutch Reformed Church record of Kinderhook, NY. First time, I got help at a familysearch.org library near Cleveland, OH. Later I found a hardbound book with the same info at a regional library in a Cleveland suburb.

You may find information at one or two  Bucks County, PA libraries.
Thank you. I will look it up. I'm trying to figure out our families biggest mystery right now, which is what I had originally asked.
Thank you for your help! I'm pretty sure by now that William, the eldest son listed, is our direct ancestor. It couldn't have been the youngest brother, Anthony, as he didn't marry until 1785 to Eve Platner, and they only had one daughter. William was old enough, but he likely died during the revolution in battle.
My ancestors were Anthony Maxwell and Effie Vreeland.  I may be able to help you find your missing link ancestor to Anthony.

My line is as follows

Anthony Maxwell, born c1710, died aft. 1759

William Maxwell, born c1745, died between 1780-1784

Joseph Maxwell born c1775, died 1826

Anthony Augustus Maxwell, born c1803-1893

Joseph E. Maxwell, 1848-1907

William Maxwell 1884-1950
it is I who have commented on this this family thru the years via internet posts.  Please email me at jarm@nycnuts dot net.  Thank You. Jim Maxwell
