I am trying to find some info on my relatives on both sides of the family - I have 2 different names - I know One was Full Catawba Indian - I have Jane Pegg Catawba Indian of north central South Carolina- wife of Bryan Sanders - THey had a Son George Sanders Sr & Married Agness Kelly -George Sanders,SR.changed it when he mrd Agnes Kelly.
It could be PIGG was his mothers maiden name, as Indians traced their line through their mothers ( Correct??)
the new government required it to be through the father??. could be his mother's line was PIGG and his father's SANDERS??
Agness Kelly - George Sanders - children were George jr , John ,James, William and David & Sarah
Sarah lived with her son, grandson & Husband ( Husband died) after 46 years later & she rode horse - Some say is was a Mule - back to Carolina from Ms to be buried in sacred family ( Indian ) land -
she was in her early 80's when she left - She torn a $100 bill in half and took half with her and when safely in SC sent for the other half -
She had come to Copiah co., MS in a wagon train with her Husband & Son & His Family
George Her son moved from SC to MS after was settled - he went back and brought Jordan, Sarah's Husband & his father and the balance of
the family to Covington co., MS. There His Father died,
I am trying to unravel this VERY confusing family line
