Merge direction Unknown and UNKNOWN? [closed]

In merging two profiles - one of which has UNKNOWN as the last name at birth and the other has the last name at birth as Unknown, should the direction be into UNKNOWN or into Unknown? In this case, UNKNOWN is a lower number than Unknown, but does that apply in this type of merge?

Hi S, you'd want to merge UNKNOWN to Unknown.
Thanks, Eowyn. I had a feeling that might be the preference.

Technically, those are different spellings (as far as the computer is concerned), so merge into the spelling you want to keep - regardless of number

Thanks Dennis, but I think the default on Wikitree is to use Unknown, and names in all capital letters are considered as errors in the database errors project?

In this case I think the merge should be from UNKNOWN into Unknown even if Unknown is the higher number., but I could be wrong?
Thank you both for your comments. I've revised a pending merge to go INTO Unknown instead of the reverse.
