The older David D. Spearman's middle name was Desmond, but the younger David D. Spearman's middle name appears to be Derrick. According to a Pedigree Resource File, he died in Virginia on 9 June 1864. The Spearman line is traced back here several generations to John Spearman 1647-1683 of Caroline, VA. John Spearman's mother's line traces back to England.

Parents are shown as David Desmond Spearman and Christina Elizabeth Slatton.

Ok I'm not changing anything yet but at least we got information on here , for others I'm talking to one of The brothers line out in Indiana Francis Asbury Spearman 1843,  I have been working on the one that married back to a Spearman but as usual I got side tracked,  but I thank that paper is for the dad , what do you thank?  and I looked at that Pedigree and they have Catlett as my 6th Great Grandmother and that Catlett line didn't come in to the line for two more Generations down from what I here, and it wasn't a Grandmother it was an aunt,

It looks like the son died in 1864 in Virginia, probably, I assume, in combat during the war between the states. So, in 1866, only the father would be available to work at a job.

Do you have a location of where he was living at the time of the war breaking out? I found a Company Muster Roll Card for a D. D. Spearman showing he enlisted in Columbia, SC and passing away from wounds suffered during battle on Jun 9 1864. The Muster Roll Card is from Company D, 18th Regiment South Carolina Infantry. If you think this is him I will send you a copy of all of the Muster Roll Cards, there are approximately 4, copies of transfer to hospital, death notice, and personal effects card. Also, found cards for Benjamin Spearman in the same unit.

There were two named David D Spearman in the above 1850 US Census in Anderson County, Anderson, SC. 

The one who was 44 years old was married to Christianna Spearman  and the one who was 11 would have been old enough to serve in the Civil War in 1863. His father would have been 57 in 1863 and could have served also.

No, I did not find anything on his wife, but there was a David D. Spearman who was employed in SC in 1866. Maybe his son?

Are you sure he passed away during the Civil War? The war was over before 1866 when the above David D Spearman was employed.

That Probate paper is hard to read but it looks like he died 1863 and I can't make the information on this paper out to see the name of a child it mentioned?

His father was still living he didn't die to 1878 this is probably,  David Sr, information but not 100% sure if we had an age?

Frank should I change his middle name to Derrick and take Jr of a d Sir off his father one find a Grave information on his father that is buried at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery has David Desmond Spearman Sir, and Desmond that is close to Dishman which it seems my line Edmund Spearman and Dinah Dishman was the first to come to the Brushy Creek Township of Piedmont, Anderson County, South Carolina,  which I believe this Cemetery at Shiloh United Methodist Church was considered Brushy Creek area at one time that's another thing I'm working on is when the Census say Regiment 4, Regiment 5,  Regiment 42 , I know a lot of people probably don't care much about this information but I'm interested in it because my Blackstone family and my Spearman family being my parents all come from this area long before the Civil War,  I would like to know if the place I live was their property at one time , I live at where Hwy 8, Hwy 29, cross just left on 29, coming from Greenville, SC on to 29 and before Hwy 8, White Plains Baptish Church Cemetery is on one side Spearman and Blackstone here and Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery,  Blackstone and Spearman are here along with about everybody buried in these Cemetery ' s I got roots In this area and my family research has took the place of a bad habit,  research is little better on my liver, if you know what I mean, lol all four of my Grandparents was died by time I was 11 years old  and just found something I love to do, so please if you run across anything on this family send it to me , Thank's
