Toner DNA connections

+3 votes

I would like to work with you on the Toner Family.  My husband is a descendant of Robert Toner b1832.  I have found information about Eliza Toner Hilferty b 1812, who I believe was Robert's sister.  Her death certificate states that her father was James Toner and mother was ________ Reid.  I have found her mother, Margaret Toner, age 70, widow, living with her family in the 1861 Census of Pittsburgh, Frontenac Township, Ontario, Canada.

We recently had the ancestry DNA test done, and are trying to figure out connections.  I'd love to share information and sources.

I highly recommend your husband also take the Y-DNA37 test from Family Tree DNA because it is specific to (only follows) his (Toner) direct paternal line.

I also recommend you register at and follow GEDmatch's instructions to upload your husband's AncestryDNA results there.  Then enter his GEDmatch ID on his DNA Tests page in WikiTree.  GEDmatch will allow you to see his matches with additional cousins who tested with 23andMe and Family Finder.

Is his ancestry in WikiTree yet?

Thanks and sincerely, Peter
