Unhappy with Search

I ALWAYS sort search results by birth year but WikiTree doesn't know about my preference.  Every day I tell it multiple times but it forgets.  This drives me nuts because the first search results I get are almost never usable.  I end up searching and then resorting the results.  Two operations.  Over and over.   I use the search boxes at the top of the window to find a particular person I want to view or edit.  Sometimes I use it to look for duplicates.  And lately it seems to have inflated the number of closely matching names.  I get a gigantic list of junk, scroll to the bottom and remove the similar names option, search again and then have to redisplay in birth order.  All to find the guy with that name born in 1760 or so.  Why can't birth order be sticky?   Why can't "similar names" be sticky?  When I leave WikiTree and return, why doesn't it remember who I am and restore my preference?  WikiTree is my genealogy program and in this respect it's really unfriendly!
