How do I find who my great great grandmother was who died and was buried at sea?

My great grandmother, Anna Lessing, came to New Orleans from Herzberg,  Kingdom of Prussia in 1854 at the age of 14.  (born 13 Jan 1840).  With her were her father, Charles Friedrick William Lessing and 3 siblings.  Her mother died on the trip and was buried at sea.  I have no information about her, not even a first name.  Does anyone have any information to help?  Anna married Henry George Frederic Hubener in New Orleans on 1 Aug. 1858.

Do you have the name of the ship? If so, look at the embarkation records. She should be there. Or perhaps there is a ship's journal, which should record her death?

Have you checked Anna's marriage or death cert? The name might be there.
