Are the volunteers who review GEDCOMs all on vacation?

Not sure I picked the right category!

I submitted a GedCOM and then I noticed it was unsubmitted. I did not realise that when I went to look at the table report that it suspends the reivew. So... I deleted it because there was an error and it did not match up with me or my dad.

I resubmitted my GEDCOM. I could not merge my dad in the GEDCOM with the profile of my dad. I reuploaded and now it has been 72 hours. I also sent an email to info@.... at 48 hours,. and got the auto-response back.

I am anxious to get going.... and wondering if there is a problem.

I just asked this same question just 5 minutes ago.  I'm glad to see that it wasnt me and they might be overwhelmed reviewing GEDCOMs.  I was getting worried that I might not have done the import properly. I am having lots of trouble navigating this site. I would find it easy if there was a menu item clearly marked to check the status of items like GEDOM review or import. Well good luck Ruth!

Hi Rayburn, it looks like you still need to approve your GEDCOM to be reviewed.  If you go to the Changes tab at the top of your profile page, you'll be able to find the link to your GEDCompare report there.

Hi Rayburn... One thing I learned after posting my first question last week, is that the link to approve the GEDCOM is ALL the way at the very bottom of the page where you review and compare your people.

Also, If in your "hurry" to see if it is approved, you go to that page again and manipulate the table, it will automatically need to be approved again (at least that is what happened to me).

I did get my GEDCOM approved and uploaded and am starting to learn how to navigate the system.

GEDCOM reviews often take more time to accomplish, depending on the number of reviewers, how many were submitted at once, and yes - possibly available time for the reviewers. Last I checked, we have a fairly limited number of reviewers, so hopefully one will get back to you very soon with an update on your GEDCOM.
