Eowyn - I just saw this...missed it when you first posted.

This photo was taken about 1906. Pictured are Frank and Melinda (Stanfill) Carter (my great grandparents) with their 4 oldest children. Children pictured left to right are: Bill, Cynthia, Ida (my grandma) and Press

I always loved this picture.  Frank and Melinda had 11 children before his death in a coal mine in 1921 (well, actually they had 10, #11 was born after Frank's death)

Eowyn, you have the best pictures I have ever seen.

The chairs that they are sitting on are very beautiful.  The clothes they are wearing are spectacular.  

I love their hair.  Everything about this picture says "fresh, loving, wholesome family."

All of the backdrops are beautiful.

I love the mother's dress or skirt and the wall it just falls all around her.
