Any advice on how to clean up imported unsourced GED files? Checklist etc.

Any advise or share points for a novice on cleaning up profiles that have been created through imported GEDCOM files would be greatly appreciated. If they are unsourced what data goes and what stays? Can we start a best practice discussion on this and share so that the newbies can gain some understanding of what a WikiTree "mentor" would recommend.
