I am looking for the descendants of Bill Barron, who according to family legend, was a foster child of William Pearce, my great grand father, in Wickham, England. He was refered to as Uncle Bill and came out to New Zealand to visit my grandmother, Violet Louden, nee Pearce, when he served on "The Hood" when it was used for a royal tour in 1923/24. There was no mention of him in The Hood's sketchy records pre WWII. He was a tall man, and had the dubious honour of being the tallest man to visit a local pub, it was scratched into the bar. Guessing, I would say he was born between 1894 and 1900.
If any of this strikes a cord with anyone I would appreciate any details, no matter how vague as my aunt and uncle wonder what happened to this beloved character from their childhood.
Many thanks,
Kay in New Zealand
