Merge Internal Error Message?

Question

Not on the trusted list for either York-1531 or York-1328, tried merging but got the message to propose it instead, then when I tried to do that explaining that one has more info in it that the other (b., m., d.) but each only has one of the children (going to go in and add the rest with the reference to the one that has more info in a minute, but I get an internal error message. This is the second time this has happened to me. Is it the program or me?

Hi T.,

An internal server error message is never good. It always indicates a problem with the program, not with the user. :-)

I tried to reproduce this but was unable to. (I proposed the merge.)

This could have been a temporary quirk. If you ever experience this again please post here. We'll wait and see if it happens to anyone else as well.

Without the specific error message, here is what could have happened. Because it happens to me all the time...  

If you have the compare screen open, then you make a change to one of the profiles, you will get an error message when you try to propose the merge.   The error message is because something has changed on one of the profiles.  So, if you have the compare screen open in one tab, making changes in another tab, just remember to "refresh" the compare screen before you try to propose the merge.
