Elise Barr Curry was married to Vice Admiral John Henry Newton, Jr., commander at Pearl Harbor.
Her father was Robert Oliver Curry, son of Bill Curry and Effie Lowe of Key West, first millionaires in Florida, who built the original Curry Mansion. They were both distantly related to my father through ancestors in the Bahamas. WikiTree says Elise was my 4th cousin once removed. My best buddy Robert Curry at FSU was also related to her.
