Richard Lord, son of Thomas Stanely 2nd Earl of Derby

+6 votes

Thomas Stanley, 2nd Earl of Derby has a son currently named Richard/Ronald Lord who lived for at least 10 months and was born in between his father's marriages. He proceeded to have an heir 35 years later named William Lord whose descendants lived in Towcester, Northamptonshire for a couple generations prior to emigrating to New England.

This whole line from Richard up to Thomas Lord is pretty fact-free & the Stanley connection was made recently. The whole thing is sketchy - an illegitimate child with a different surname (Lord is an odd surname) is certainly possible but I assume this was an error? It didn't come from a GEDCOM import, so I thought maybe there was more to this story.

Seems to be all part of the fictitious ancestry of Thank-ye-Lord Perkins-3692 .  Kind of fell apart when it was discovered that she was a Perkins not a Lord, but these things won't lie down.

Needs a PPP I think.

Looks as if that one needs  a bunch of post merge cleanup -

I've deleted the Lord connection on Perkins-3692 (states right within her biography that she's not the child of Thomas Lord), and cleaned up her biography (which still needs more work, but hopefully a family member will jump in on that).

I've also deleted Thomas Stanley as Ronald Lord's father.  The Lord profile has no sources for it; without a valid source, he should not be attached.

Thanks for bringing this up, Kirk.

Still leaves the question of whether Richard/Ronald existed and whether he really was William's father, or whether he was just cobbled together to connect William Lord to the Earl of Derby.
Well, we don't have Ronald Lord attached to parents at this point.  So the lineage stops with him until/unless someone comes up with a legitimate source.
