The family Bible, ordinarily a sacrosanct resource has parents and siblings birthdates and marriages listed. All but one match the family tree begun by my great grandmothers in the 1930s. According to my tree, Hiram had 5 sons, including the first 3 named after presidents, two of which were WILLard and WILLiam. The Bible included a 6th son, William W, born when both Willard and WIlliam were still alive, and did not have a middle name. Also the Bible has a notation written in a different hand that says "No relashion." So I included him in WikiTree as a son as the only confirmation of his existence was the family Bible. So with this challenge I decided to revisit Willard Taft, William Henry Harrison, and George Washington Green. In doing so I came across a Find a Grave that hadn't existed before for their father Hiram. Only I was quite sure it was incorrect, wrong location, right dates, but it led me to ANOTHER Hiram Green, also born in New York, living very near my Hiram Green, with a son William W. who lived only 12 years. This Hram lived with a daughter Louisa, which I am quite sure was not the name of one of my Hram's daughters as she would have been alive when my great grandnother was alive and I am sure she would have known of her and she would be in my tree. So I suspect the two Hirams may be cousins, otherwise how would that info gotten there, but that is a mystery yet to solve.
Lesson learned : Bible records can be wrong.
