My Brick Wall - Margaret Ann Dowling b 1861ish Had a brother Patrick per her one paragraph obit. That's all I have on my paternal grandmother. She married one John Martyn, my grandfather. All purportedly hailed from NY, Brooklyn specifically. My dad was the youngest, but Margaret was about 50 years old! My dad was the only one to live long enough to have children.

His father born West Meath Ireland.

found records in Ireland,but there are 9,all born abt 1860.

I have John Martyn born 3 oct 1854 reportedly in Mullingar, County Westmeath. His father was Eugene Marti(y)n.

To tie ANY Margaret Ann Dowling I would need a marriage certificate to John Martyn, hopefully with parentage there. I have exciting census data, but can't accept it quite yet (1880 US Census, NY, NY). Father Patrick with son Patrick and Mother Margaret with dau Margaret. Correct time frame too. BUT,..... we all know how it is.....
