New Shipp Name Study in Progress

I just found out I'm a Shipp descendant. Debby Black and I have been working on adding Shipps and connecting to our line. She had shown me the will some time ago and for some reason it didn't register in my feeble brain. Then Family Search Trees connected a Shipp line to my Hicks. In trying to verify all this new info that FST dumped on me, I found additional Shipp connections. One, I knew about,  one I had forgotten entirely, and a 3rd that was totally new.

I know that are a few Shipp researchers on WT, and very few Shipps posted. So I decided we needed a ONS.

The ONS page is a bit blank, but hopefully there will be some who can fill it out.

I'm not a Shipp researcher but for your list of notable Shipps you could include Gordon Stanley Shipp. The City of Mississauga (Ontario, Canada) named a few things for him including it's "citizen of the year award", the Canadian Home Builders' Association also has a national award named for him, and he is one of about 250 inductees to the U.S. National Association of Home Builders’ Hall of Fame and to date the only non-American so honoured. Between Gordon Stanley and his son Harold Gordon much of the City of Mississauga was "Shipp-built". The name of the younger Shipp and his wife also appear at Trillium Health Centre (formerly Mississauga Hospital) where they funded the Harold G. and June C. Shipp Stroke Centre...

As a sidebar the Mississauga home of Harland David Sanders (better known as Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame), was most likely a "Shipp-built" home.
