New Stanton Name Study is going global!

+10 votes
I started the Stanton Name Study with the Cornwall (England) Stantons.  Tracing their migration, I found that in the 19th century they emigrated to South Australia, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and New York!

I am happy to keep going on the England side (I am English and live in England, and am familiar with English records).  Anyone keen to take on the American and Australian lines?

Ros, do you mean the name migrated to Kansas 19th Century? Or that you have specific family line from Cornwall that goes to Kansas 19th Century? My line is documented (reverse order): Kansas (late 19th Century; Ohio/Indiana; Carolinas, Virginia.  Currently working to verify or debunk the very early Virginia lineage but it is not the nothern Stanton family.

Samuel  born 1852 and his sister Victoria went to Kansas.  But, as the Stanton Name Study says - there were still plenty of Stantons in Cornwall! and you can see who stayed and who went on the migration page:

I am trying to do a Fairfield County, SC project and have information on the Stantons that were here.  I will be glad to contribute what I have on them and would love to add them to your Stanton project.
