Which profile to use as spouse (merge or remove)?

I need help in how to show the two names of spouse are same person, but different spelling of maiden name = Patty/Petty, please. There are two managers.

First propose the merge, then in the comments you can document which should be the right spelling of the last name (seems that her father exists in the same duplicate fashion). If there are other than census data available for deciding how to spell the name I would give those more credence than the spelling on a census entry.

Thank you, Helmut. The atDNA matches support the kinship; so does the location of my Patty/Paty family in Georgia and South Carolina. I'll continue searching for more documentation.
