Don't forget this guy...

EDIT: While he was a power lifter in competitions, I really thought he was in the Olympics - according to what I can find, he was not. My mistake.
No profile that I can find for Johnny Weissmuller

No profile that I can find for Carl Lewis

Lots of other Gold Medalists on this page that would be interesting to include:

My cousin:  http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Miller-24223   Highest medaled US Gymnist. Also, part of the Magnificent Seven from the 1996 Olympics. Don't have her connected to the global tree... Would love help! :)

And that would mean this SSN Death record is his too:

"United States Social Security Death Index," database, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:J2RM-N2K : 20 May 2014), Charles O Miller, 14 Feb 2001; citing U.S. Social Security Administration, Death Master File, database (Alexandria, Virginia: National Technical Information Service, ongoing).

If that's his SSDI then this shows different parents:  Ancestry.com. U.S., Social Security Applications and Claims Index, 1936-2007 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2015.

Name: Charles Miller
[Charles O Miller]
SSN: 304107562
Gender: Male
Race: White
Birth Date: 23 Jan 1918
Birth Place: Cando, North Dakota
Death Date: 14 Feb 2001
Father: C O Miller
Mother: Della Ehrsam
Type of Claim: Original SSN.
Notes: Dec 1936: Name listed as CHARLES MILLER; 22 Feb 2001: Name listed as CHARLES O MILLER
Whoa - this is a nice article. So if we're on the right track, this goes into Mabel's family tree too...

AHA - and it says in there that Mabel Lee Neill Miller is Shannon's Grandmother! There we go.

OK - so I looked up North Dakota Charles O's - and found this:

"United States Census, 1920," database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MC8G-JRR : 14 December 2015), Charles E Miller in household of Homer C Miller, Zion, Towner, North Dakota, United States; citing sheet 10A, NARA microfilm publication T625 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.); FHL microfilm 1,821,340.

"United States Census, 1930", database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X41F-SP3 : 8 December 2015), Charles O Miller Jr. in entry for Charles O Miller, 1930.

"United States Census, 1940," database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VR2X-1M2 : accessed 12 August 2016), Charles Miller in household of C N Miller, Byron Township, Stafford, Kansas, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) 93-2, sheet 2A, family 25, Sixteenth Census of the United States, 1940, NARA digital publication T627. Records of the Bureau of the Census, 1790 - 2007, RG 29. Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 2012, roll 1262.

Looks like they moved around a lot. Father from Indiana, he was born in North Dakota, moved to Indiana, then to Kansas - I suppose they could have ended up in Texas, or he enlisted and after the war ended up in Texas. I'm OK with that story too.

Scratch that 1940 Census - I'm pretty sure that's the wrong person.
Very nice! I think we've got enough proof to add the parents, if you're happy with the evidence. :)
Absolutely... now to catch up on my database to add all that. :) LOL Working on what I found on that one site also. Thanks! :)
Here's a link on the Miller side that should be helpful:
