How do I untangle my Francis Ignatius Combs?

Somehow Francis Ignatius Coomes (Combs-164) was merged into another Francis Combs and finally into Coomes-10 when they are not the same person. His wife and children have been removed.  You can see that he originally was married to Nancy Claypoole and was the father of Charles Combs by looking at the changes on his son here:  http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Combs-1433

In the changes to the biography under Coomes-10, I can find most of the original biography, but before I recreate the profile, is there any way to "unmerge" this profile and restore it to the original information that was contained within it?

It seems as if a profile related to him was re-created last month.  Do I need to contact the new profile manager to re-enter the biographical material that is located in the "changes" section for Combs-1433 and to link this new profile back to his wife and children's?
And here is another duplicate:  http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Combs-2338
Neither 2338 or 1000 were the original, because the ien of the original was 164, but has been merged away.

Hi Janne,  I am the pm for Coomes-10.  And yes, I made the changes you refer to. I left this message at the beginning of FIC-10's biography:

I believe there were 2 Francis Ignatius Coomes/Coombs/Combs lines.
(1) This Francis Ignatius Coomes who was born in 1726, served in
the Revolutionary War, married Charity Woods, lived in VA, NC,
& late in life moved to Cox's Creek, Bardstown, Nelson, Kentucky.
He died in 1822 at age 96 in Nelson, Kentucky.

(2) Francis Ignatius Coombs believed to be born in Charles County
Maryland who married Cassandra Culver and later Nancy Claypool.
He died in 1816 in Hardy County, Virginia

I would be happy to help you untangle your Francis Ignacius Combs profile.  I descend for Francis Ignatius and Charity Woods daughter, Rachel.  Rachel married her cousin, William Coomes Jr., and both Francis Ignatius Sr and William Coomes Sr were brothers who descend from Thomas Coomes and Elizabeth Wharton.  They traveled to and died in Nelson, Kentucky.

You can contact me at McChesney-105 or email me, and we can go from there.  Grace

How do you purport to disentangle the profiles?  Do you know the ien of the profile that was merged into Coomes-10 that contained Combs-164?  Can the merges be reversed?
First off, I would locate the children you refer to and add the correct Francis Ignatius Combs as father.  I notice that Charles Combs, last I checked, had no profile manager.   If he is your relative, you may wish to adopt these profiles.
Secondly, I have already made a copy of my bio for my Francis Ignatius and his wife Charity Woods.  Since WikiTree profiles are open for all to edit, merge, etc., I suggest that you make personal copies of any bio information you have in case you need to restore it/them.

I know nothing of how to "unmerge" profiles, but I don't understand why it needs to be unmerged since clearly Coombs-1000 is the same Francis Ignatius Combs that married both Cassandra Culver and Nancy Claypool.  Perhaps you can clarify that for me.

If you would like me to, I can add the spouse/children for you?  But I have to say that I know nothing of this Coombs line and couldn't verify the information.

Grace, you have all the EASY answers, don't you?  EASY for you to say since you were the one that performed the merges that made the mess in the first place:

8:47: Grace McChesney removed Elizabeth (Combs) Bean as a child of Francis Coomes Sr..
18:46: Grace McChesney removed Druscilla (Combs) Jarboe as a child of Francis Coomes Sr..
17:43: Grace McChesney removed Cassandra (Culver) Combs as the spouse from Francis Coomes Sr..
6 July 2016

20:07: Grace McChesney edited the data for Francis Coomes Sr.. (Merged Coomes-107 into Coomes-10)
20:04: Grace McChesney edited the data for Francis Coomes Sr.
20:03: Grace McChesney edited the data for Francis Coomes Sr.. (Merged Combs-164 into Coomes-107: Records show multiple spellings of Coomes/Coombs/Combs, but the most common both of his father, his brother and himself in records is Coomes)
20:03: Grace McChesney edited the First Name, Last Name at Birth and Email for Francis Coomes Sr..

I apologize for what you call a mess, which appears to be, as cited above, the removal of 2 children and a wife that do not belong to Francis Coomes Sr. (1) who married Charity Woods, my ancestors. I did not add them to the Francis Coombs (2) because I have not researched the Francis Coombs (2) line and can't verify it's accuracy based on sources.

It seems to me that there is a simple, or EASY, solution to this problem, but that you would prefer to chastise me instead.  I have apologized and offered my assistance.  Let's MOVE ON and be gracious with each other.  We both want the same thing, for the correct information to be out there.  Kind Regards, Grace

It appears as if Margaret Garner is in the process of clearing the problem.
