Confirmation that Fred, Frank, D.C. Young were Roy's Father!

Greetings; Information on Roy A.Young, He was my Paternal Great Grandfather. He first appeared for me in the California U.S.1920 census with birth information stated as Missouri (abt 1888-1889). His Father was born in Nebraska abt 1865, His Mother was born in Iowa abt 1865! Don't have a clue as to when Roy arrived in California but he does have a common name and none of the names appear in California with the proper date or State of birth.

From My Paternal Grandmothers family records I was able to build her records up line no problem. But she had been married in Fresno, Fresno Co., California, Feb. 2nd, 1918. She was 22 and Roy was 28. Catherine Cornell was a Mormon and according to the Marriage Certificate They were married in a non-denominational church in Fresno! The "Marriage Registration" Probably didn't exist in 1918! Another form that I have seen of someone else's all the Parental Information existed on the same form. When I attempted to locate the form online it was non existant or otherwise not available. I finally ordered it and not all the information was available on in it regarding their Parents. Whoever indexed the form created three different names for Roy's father: Fred, Frank, & D.C.and listed his mother as E.A. Bishop. I have done filtered and unfiltered searches for all five in the Census, Birth, Marriage, Death, Origional application for SSA Identification, Have done a thorough search of Roy's(WW1), (Civil War) Fred, Frank, D.C.'s military records and have not been able to connect them!

Thanks for your help! I have this record and there is no birth information for each parent, If I could find each of their individual applications then I would know that this is the right couple, Although I believe Lingner may have been a second wife if this is the right father. My mother had the copy of the Divorce decree regarding My Fathers Parents and it listed Roy as Roy A. Young! Same on the Marriage Certificate. Both documents are in my possession. When I did the first search in Ancestry I could only get the 1920 California/U.S. Census. From there I tried to work backwards and the only info I could find was Catherine's history.
Addendum; I'm willing to accept the information on Roy's birthplace and birthdate as it does correspond with the other information I have so until His parents are confirmed I'm still a little skeptical. I was not able to confirm anyone with his name born in Missouri on that date at the States records online.
The Lingner name was the last married name she had before her death.

There was a Frank Young in Los Angeles and the Roy with a newer birth date in Los Angeles! I dismissed that one!

Hi Again, To your question, I gave the answer in my statement ahead of this in more detail, Yes!
Since my last reply I located the film record of the marriage application and after surveying it's content and style I was able to confirm that my Grandmother Catherine completed the form and can only guess that Roy gave her his mother's remarried name possibly cause he didn't know her maiden name. I had also located information confirming this by using the draft registration for Roy in Los Angeles where he listed that he was staying with his mother and posted the address. I did a search of the voter registration records and observed that his mother's name was Eva A. Bishop and she was married to an Arie Bishop. I searched the 1910 census and she had been married to Bishop since the year of Roy's birth! That's where I stopped cause I'm not able to find anything that indicates where they married. As far as his father the name listed on the form was Fred Young, Iowa. I don't think Roy was in to what was going on when they were filing for the marriage license! When my Father was born Roy gave his name as LeRoy but I don't know of any other reference to that name other than my Father seemed to only know of him as Leroy. At any rate I have not been able to confirm any connection to the names he gave for the SSA registration for his parents: Frank W. Young and Eva A. Lingner (which was Eva's next remarried name before she passed away in the 1930's) Is there a way to get his military records, Roy enlisted in the WW1 Navy at Fresno, and his home port was San Francisco.
Catherine filed for divorce in July, 1922 from Roy for desertion in Fresno court. She began the action while Roy was still in the Navy in 1921 and it was finalized in 1923. They had a child named Warren born Jan and died Oct.of 1921. Have not been able to confirm the circumstances of the death but it seemed to have an effect on their relationship At any rate Roy did remarry and you have listed the results!
