Could he have lived in Wilkes County, North Carolina? It's not too far from Virginia.

http://www.NewRiverNotes.com is sometimes a good source for the area.

I don't know Susan  can you help with this, Thanks

Hi Donnie,

I'm afraid I can't be much help. Here is my Brown ancestor: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Brown-6093

I am not sure if she descends from the German Braun family or a Brown family. I am wondering if your ancestor and mine connect since they are from the same general area of North Carolina.

Very possible connection here some way or another my Minnie Wilson Great Grandmother married into the Hooper family also , I'm a 5th Great Grandson of Absalom Hooper Revolutionary War Soldier buried at East Laport Cemetery,  when I went to the Jackson County Society library it was on a Tuesday and the people in the Library was telling me that , I'm kin to alot of people in this area my Hooper family came from Sylva Jackson County North Carolina my Parker family came from Canada, Jackson County North Carolina,  my Brown Family is connected to both these families I believe my Two Grandmother's may have been Cousins one Parker one Hooper,  , Hooper, Brown, Parker,  Wilson,  Mathis, Bryson,  Countryman, Clemmons,  Siler or Saler, Long , I know of these names of my Grandparents, Great Grandparents , and Great Great Grandparents,

We definitely have some surnames in common. So far, however, my Wilson and Brown families come from the area surrounding Forsyth County, N.C.. Of course the boundry lines changed as new counties were formed. I would not be surprised to find a connection somewhere along the way.

Forsyth is 3 hours from Jackson County,  I guess Some may have moved from one place to the other , I been to the Jackson County Society library,  I need to go back I know a lot more about who to look for now,

It's possible they are the same family, but I really have no clue. I have not gotten very far back in time with my dad's family, and no confirmed dna matches so far.

Looks like we have some work to do!

Maybe this site will help finding your brown family findingbirthrecordsfor brownsfromvirgina some of my Browns are from North Carolina.
