You may have to contact the Town Clerk's office for the actual birth records of the children of Charles J Coleman and Mary Benefield.

I did not find coleman on the u.s. federal census that I checked looking for Oliver Benfield with them but I did find the following Oliver on the census with his family.

1910 U.S. Federal Census: Lewis Benfield b.1858 North Carolina, his father b. N.C. mother b. N.C., his age at census 52. Julia Benfield b.1861 N.C.his wife, her parents, father b. N.C., mother b. N.C. Their children: Oliver Benfield age 20, b. 1890 N.C.son, Mogie age 15 b. 1895 N.C.daughter, Thomas Benfield age 14, b. 1896 son, Ellen Benfield age 10 b. 1900 daughter, Justin Benfield age 6,b. 1904 son. residence: altamount, Mitchell, N.C.

1920 U.S. Federal Census: Oliver Benfield age 30 b. 1890  head. Oma age 26 b.1894 wife, Bertie age 7 b. 1913, Vercie age 6 b. 1914, Hoke age 3 b. 1917 son, Hale age 3 b. 1917 son. all of them are Benfield. residence: altamount N.C.

1930 U.S. Federal Census: Oliver Benfield age 39 b. 1890 head; father b. N.C. mother b. N.C. Oma Benfield age 35 wife, father b. Tennesse, mother b. Tennesse.
