Parents of Thomas Davis (1807?-1843-07-25).

Family tradition (always unreliable) says he was a ship captain who died in bed at home in New Haven, Connecticut.  He married Harriet Newell Rich on 1832-07-25 and they were the father of Theodore Rich Davis, for whom I was named.   I have considerable evidence that he was a man of some substance, so it is particularly odd that I nhave not been able to find a specific birth date nor either of his parents.

(I thought I asked this question several days ago, but it has never shown up, so I am trying again.)

I have not seen the Jacobus article, possibility this site has him mixed with another Thomas Davis (another site says this Thomas according to Jacobus is Deaf)
