News on Database errors project (28 August 2016)

Do we learn anything from all the nice statistics you produce?

Yes - we learn ' That no mater what we do to fix up the database to correct or adjust records for the errors there will still be more added and others to find and adjust (just in a different place ) '

@Graeme I mean more specific things like

1. Biggest problem is inactive profile managers
2. The number of errors xxx are increasing faster than we fix
3. 80% of the errors are from profile managers not active the last 2 years 
4. The decrease of errors on open profiles are xxx and on closed yyyy
5. 85% of the not fixed errors are from profile managers who just uploaded a gedcom file and was inactive after 2 months
6. SInce Chris implemented a date check when adding profiles manually errors has decreased and it we should have the same for gedcom uploads

I would like to see conclusions like this works and this doesn't work and one reason is...  and maybe also an action...

I was checking New undefined gender and most of them are from guest users, with no data and not connected to anything. I don't know exact number of guest users, but they must represent significant portion of errors.

I have encountered a few profiles with undefined gender that are for infants who died at birth; neither gender nor name were given in the record. I marked these False Error. Is that what we should do?

That is main intention of false error with missing gender error.

I have a nomination for another place name spelling error to look at in errors 637, 667, etc.:

• Schenectady

This is the name of a city and a county in New York state, USA. It is a unique name (not easily confused with anything else) and people have difficulty spelling and typing it correctly.

I didn't find any other location in the errors, so I will add it.
