I wonder if we are related.  I’m a maiden name Nielsen.  My grandfather Luvus Pedar Nielsen was born in Viborg Denmark.  Have you done DNA.  Mines listed for comparison.  Yes your grandfather does favor my Nielsen family relations here in the United States.  Most live in Utah and California now.

It appears that everyone is concerned with how handsome your grandfather was and rightfully so. He was indeed a handsome man. I think we could discuss his bakery more. Home made butter melting all over warm freshly made bread. I can smell a dark chocolate triple layer cake and a cup of coffee/tea.  I think I am making myself hungry for something good to eat.

My dad worked in Freihofer's Bakery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania before WWII. My wife cannot understand my desire for fresh baked bread and sweet baked desserts.

My father taught me everything I know about eating fresh baked goods. One time I made my dad a white cake with apple slices in it. That night when I returned to his house. he told me that there was a piece left. HAHAHA.  We now make our own home made butter and the home made bread tastes twice as good. My wife does not care for sweet desserts. I guess she has me and I am sweet enough hahaha

Nobody around cooked or baked half as good as grandma. When he told me that something was really good, it felt good that he thought something that I make was as good as his mother's cooking. I am sure everyone had a grandmother that cooked that well. I had one grandmother that did.

I never met her. She died the year before I was born. I do remember my Polish grandma. I miss her. She or any of my mother's siblings could never cook  to make anything taste remotely edible. My mother learned from my father's mother. You don't have to be great cook to be special, just a grandma.
