how can I find the other Moses Mann, born in 1801 in south carolina?

I've traced Moses Mann from Edgefield South Carolina to Newton County Georgia.  He married my great grandmother in 1873 and my grandmother was born.  Moses was 72 when he married, my grandmother (a widow) was 38.  Moses lived a very robust life, had married before, either wife died or divorced.  But I'm beginning to think Moses was not his real name.  I find him engaged at court in Newton county probating wills (for an extensive Mann family), but no where do I find that someone has written a will that included him (I have found HIS will however).  He would have been too young to fight in war of 1812.   Have no idea who his father was but I suspect it may have been a Gilbert Mann who lived in Abbeville SoCarolina and was about the right age to give birth to Moses in 1801.  Also Gilbert has children in the right age group over the 1810, and 1820 census records.  in 1830 Moses was in Bryan Georgia with two of his children, one had got married.  he was also living with a woman 5 years his senior.  Have no idea if that was his wife or not.  I'm going nuts trying to find him.

You don't say the name of your great grandmother, but I presume she is the M. Jane Hemley per the marriage license for marriage of Moses Mann to M. Jane Hemley from Dec. 1871,

The 1830 Will of John Mann, (b. c. 1793) Abbeville, SC names Moses Mann as one of the executors of his estate.  Gilbert Mann is a witness to the Will. According to the Will, John Mann's wife was named Margaret and one of his daughters was also named Margaret.  The 1830 Census for Newton County shows Moses "Man" age 47 living with Margaret Man, age 53, so she could be his sister, niece, or sister-in-law.   

1811 Will of Jain (Jane) Smith, Abbeville, SC names her four daughters to include Maragret Man and Elizabeth Man. Witnesses to the will are Robert Mann and Gilbert Mann.

1811 Gilbert Mann was also a witness to the Will of Michael Smith, Abbeville, SC.

Moses Mann also served as administrator of the estate of William R. Mann who died in Newton County, GA in 1853.

 The 1830 Census for Newton County shows Moses "Man" age 47 living with the older woman, Margaret Man, age 53,  who, considering Margaret appears to be a family name, could be his sister, niece, or sister-in-law.   

Moses Mann also served as administrator of the estate of William R. Mann (wife's name was Sarah) who died in Newton County, GA in 1853.

Moses Mann along with Slider Presnal are credited with building the Tabernacle open air church at Salem Camp Grounds in Covington Newton County Georgia

In the 1850 census Moses Mann is in household 503. the Jim listed has no surname and is a free man of color.

In the 1870 census Moses's daughter Pemelia Smith nee Mann is living with him.

Are you still looking for relatives of Moses Mann? There were some Mann's in Pickens, South Carolina in the early 1800's.
