I have created a free space profile but I can't seem to get this profile to link to it. What am I doing wrong?

I entered the [[Space: etc. on this profile but it comes up in red. When clicked it asks me to create new profile. When I click that, a screen comes up with a link to my free space page, saying perhaps it has already been created. (Which it has) But the only options are to click and view the page or create new profile, which does not link to my page. Does someone have to click "create new profile' every time they want to view the free space profile?

Part of the wiki program may not like the ":"

You can get to it by

or link to it by

[http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Young_Family_Genealogy:_Descendants_of_Peter_Young whatever]

It may pay to create a new space page without the ":"

If you are still having problems it may help to know what the etc is in

[[Space: etc.

leave the code in the bio and set privacy to open or wait for a supervisor. Good luck, Mike

I set privacy to open. Not sure I understood the first answer. Still figuring out this computer thing.

I noticed you have created a space page

Descendants of Peter Young

Fixed your page

You also have a page

it has a displayed name

Descendants of Peter Young by Dr. David K. Faux

This may be the one you want.

If your are still having problems set privacy to open on the following pages

The displayed name may have confused you on the one page and you probably wanted the text on another page.

I originally created a space page with a LOT of text on it. Ended up creating a couple of others while in the process of trying to link Thomas' profile to the original. Finally copied and pasted the entire text into the space page that you linked to Thomas' page. Tried to add links for a couple of his siblings and they seem to be working fine. Problem solved! Thanks for your help Micheal.
As a general rule, Is it better not to have a semi-colon in the name of the Free Space URL ?

I just created a couple free pages that has semi-colons. Should I change them ?

Not sure about all the kinks in the programing. Wikipedia works with quote marks " and wikitree has major problems.
